The Astros were busy at the deadline and if you thought they were bad up to this point, just wait for the last two months of the season. The first big deal had Hunter Pence going to the Phillies (like they need more help). In exchange, the Astros got Jonathon Singleton and Jarred Cosart as well as a player to be named later. Both of those guys are top prospects in a solid farm system, they’re just a few years away.
Then just before the deadline, the traded speedster Michael Bourn to the Braves for Jordan Shafer, Juan Abreu, Paul Clemens, and Brett Oberholtzer. All four of those guys are pretty much major league ready, it’ll just be interesting to see how they fare as they come up the ladder.
It’s touch being an Astros fan these days. The past two years have seen a lot of top talent go elsewhere.Throw in an MLB worst 73 losses and it’s not going to make the rest of the season (or probably next year) very enjoyable.
